Terrestrial Point Cloud Data

Laser scanners enable quick capture of high detail survey data providing survey and spatial information users a dense three-dimensional point data set with high spatial resolution. These raw point data sets or “ point clouds” are made up of millions of measurable points that can be processed into user defined parameters.

We have extensive experience in medium and long range terrestrial laser scanning for both dimensional control and land surveying applications for the mining, oil and gas and engineering sectors. We are very familiar with how our clients intend on using this data and have software designed to provide the best outcome with the highest quality and precision in a timely manner.

For rapid data collection, we can implement our mobile mapping laser system. This system is a terrestrial scanner designed for large mine site mapping, civil engineering applications and urban planning. Our system can be mounted to a vehicle for high accuracy capture while at a rapid pace in order to dramatically improve capture times while maintaining high data accuracy and quality.

Alternatively, or in conjunction with laser scanning, Fugro also have the ability to capture terrestrial imagery that can be used to generate a point cloud in its own right. The imagery can allow for photogrammetric mapping analysis as a complement to both our terrestrial laser and mobile mapping laser systems.
